WEDDING BELLS

They say your wedding day is the best day of your life. Since most of you who might ever read this were there, I won't elaborate too much on the details of the event. What I will say is that it was everything I ever could have wanted. I had (almost) all the special people in my life there, the people without whom life wouldn't be the same.

While we're here, I want to express my deep regret to some people that were unable to attend for various reasons: Kristy, you hold a special place in both our hearts and you were sorely missed on the day. Desi, the family is incomplete without you & I greatly hope we will have a chance to make up for it in the future. Anel, considering 2 were becoming 3, your absence is forgiven ;-) Lots of love to little Anya Koen! And Tashi, it's sad that circumstances did not allow you to be there, but we are nevertheless blessed to share in your excitement for the future :-) Couple of folks we were unable to have there but missed greatly: Mariska, Andy, Dale, Antasha, Christiaan, Reino, Lionel, Moses, Tando, Vannie, Joe-lin & Tertius. We're lucky to have people like you in our lives and want to thank you too for your friendship through the years and the special role you play in each of our lives.

Ok, I'm compelled to add some photies, so here they are:

I nearly cried when I saw my dad in his tux! The only thing that beat that for me was my hubby in his tail-coat, which suited him fantastically.

Of course, the girls were gorgeous & the guys dashing (complete with their little purple bow ties!)

I just loved the dress - that dress was to my body as vanilla to the tongue - I couldn't get enough of it! It was perfect, and I was uber-impressed to be able to waltz, sokkie, mambo & even jive in it! Of course, being a dancing nut, I just had to include that somewhere in our wedding (aside from our fist dance, a most enjoyable viennese waltz), so we had names of different dance forms/styles instead of table numbers. I even tried to match the dance style to the people sitting at the table (yea yea, call me coo-coo).

It was really a magical day for me, beginning to end. I loved the fact that nobody tried to make it one big fairy-tale (you know I hate those) and that it was real, natural, fun and full of love and beautiful people. But getting back to the suggestion that it's the best day of your life... I dunno, the days after were pretty damn cool too *wink* Afterall, I'd married my best friend, the person I look forward to coming home to every day and who knows just how to make me insanely happy, insanely angry, and rediculously passionate... about life.
