Bug alert

Screw the pyramids, these guys build things millions of times their own size using only their own bodies. Of course its only in a race for nourishment, but still fascinating.

And also scary if you actually think of all the bacteria that is in simbiotic relationship with our bodies. Can't really recall an exact figure but its an interesting concept - that our body actually consists of multiple living entities - and that we actually need these entities to survive. O_O

Roughly translates to: Bacteria is my friend. Brains!!! Brains!!!

Crap, those cultures-gone-wrong look like the contents a lunchbox left in a school desk over a holiday. We used to throw it away, and you go around studying it. Hah.

It's just as well we have such good immune and lymphatic systems, eh...

Yea, it is surprising how dependent we are on the little buggers. Interestingly, the particular species I'm studying is one that is used in manufacturing of dairy products, such as cheese & yoghurt. People intentionally put them in there because their metabolism produces chemicals that act as a natural presevative AND flavourant. How freaky is that!
