F*ck Romeo and Juliet
Love is not rational, Love is jealous, Love is exclusive in its attentions... Love is sacrifice, Love is hunger, Love is peace, Love is passion, Love is powerful, Love is immutable, incalculable, Love holds on for dear life, Love stands back to admire, Love protects, Love is free, Love trusts, Love fears, Love is strong yet vulnerable, Love is beautiful.

love must be ugly, looks must be Divine, and death must be beautiful~Salvidor Dali
salvidor dali doesnt know what hes talking about hun.. he probably died old and alone...
I feel a Shakespeare quote coming on, but in the interests of the viewer's sanity I'll resist :p
Love is Life, and those that dont love is dead inside for as long as they resist the love that is within them...
What is love afterall? Isnt it just chemistry?
You know, neurons firing off in our brains, sending messages to other parts of our bodies?
Is that the sickening fuzzy feeling that takes controll of your ability to think straight and make logic decisions?
Maybe Salvador's comment doesn't necessary mean something but was meant more surrealistically. Maybe love is just neuron's firing but I think a lot of people consider reality to have an inherent duality. That we somehow transcend physical things like neurons. That we have a physical body but also a metaphysical mind.
No RustyRose, love isn't just chemistry. Chemistry is like cake when you're hungry. But what about when your blood sugar is high enough? Then the nutritional value of the cake = a solid zero. Chemistry may seem related to passion, can be equally heady, except that passion says "I see you, I know you, I want you as you are". True passion fulfils not only the physical, but also the emotional, and requires trust & respect in addition to attraction. I agree with the psychology theory that love consists of 3 components: passion, friendship & commitment. If you want love but you fall into the trap of listening only to the firing neurons, all you will find in the end is emptiness. A successful relationship can only result from a logical realistic valuing of what your needs are, what the other person's needs are & whether you can fulfil eachother's needs.
whew Pony, can u say all that in simple words I can understand??
That almost sounds like work or study or something... ;-)
Sorry Louw, I can get a little carried away... But surely you need no preaching (?), so why you so concerned? I think you could probably add to my little rant. Do you agree with me?
Love. mmmmmmmm...........
The best phrase and also the worst.
Yes love is wonderful, that is when you have something to love. But then again love can be the one thing that breaks your day. And yet love is a mistory, you never know with who you will fall in love, You never know what might happen.
But hell, if you have it your one of the happiest persons alive. If your in love but its not two ways, life is worst than hell. If you dont have it, Well then life is just life.
Yes Pony, I like to rant, but I also have to keep myself back from preaching too. It is with great effort that I keep my thoughts clear and concise. I do agree with you wholeheartedly about the subject. And if I might add to your little rant, I think that most people get so caught up in the chemistry that they don't work on the other 2 elements that is the most important for a lasting meaningful relationship. And unfortunately the friendship and Trust(I think commitment isnt a part of love but an result of it) gets left behind and failure is then inevitable.
By chemistry i actually meant neurons flashing and internal stuff in the brain. Not lust. Because lust is just that, and there is no point in using euphemisms like "chemistry"
I agree that love is an interesting emotion, and probably more than that, but right now i am short of personal experience, and i have to cope with the bitter taste of jealousy. I hate to admit it, but my ego gets bruised easily.
